Our office is located near South Gate, California.  South Gate, California is located in Los Angeles County and is only 7.4 square miles.  However, South Gate is the sixteenth largest city in Los Angeles County.  It is located just 7 miles southeast of Downtown Los Angeles.   The city of Southgate incorporated in 1923 and officially became an “Azalea City” when it adopted the azalea as its official flower in 1965.  The azalea is still part of South Gate’s official seal. 

Today, South Gate has a population of over 94,000 and is very diverse.  However, the population of South Gate used to be nearly 100% White.  Post Watts riots, the demographics began to change, as the Hispanic population in South Gate began to grow.
